Cefoperazone Sodium for Injection

Monotherapy: This product may be used to treat the following infections caused by susceptible bacteria: upper and lower respiratory tract infections; peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, and other intra-abdominal infections; sepsis; meningitis; skin and soft tissue infections; pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, gonorrhea, and other genital tract infections; upper and lower urinary tract infections; and bone and joint infections.

Infection Prevention: This product may be used to prevent postoperative infections in patients undergoing abdominal, gynecological, cardiovascular, and orthopedic surgeries.

Combination Therapy: This product has a broad antibacterial spectrum, and monotherapy is sufficient to treat the vast majority of infections. When clinically indicated, it may also be used in combination with other antibiotics. If co-administered with aminoglycoside antibiotics, renal function should be monitored throughout the course of treatment (see [Dosage and Administration]).
